WASHINGTON, D.C. ― U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), a member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, testified before the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) to oppose raising tariffs on imported solar panels and modules.
 
The USTR held a public hearing to help inform the decision of President Trump, who received a range of formal remedy recommendations from the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) on November 13 and must make a final determination in the case in January 2018.

Educators Pension Fund Investments Posts Positive Return For The Eighth Consecutive Quarter

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Educational Retirement Board Fund, which provides defined pension benefits to the state’s public educational employees, posted an investment return of 3.0 percent, net of management fees for the three months ending Sept. 30, 2017.
 
This marks the eighth consecutive quarter of positive returns. The fund has experienced only one negative quarter in the last 17 calendar quarters.
 
The fund also reached a new high in assets at $12.6 billion, an increase of $365.6 million for the quarter.

If you’ve followed the humanitarian disaster in Yemen, you’re aware of the worsening famine and cholera epidemic; especially as they affect children. The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that it’s possible over 2/3 of the children may die of malnutrition in the next few months.
