Keller Provides Update On UNM Athletics Audit

SANTA FE  Due to continuing inquiries, State Auditor Tim Keller provided an update on the special audit of issues at UNM Athletics, the Lobo Club and UNM Foundation.
 
The ongoing special audit was initiated in May and covers numerous financial management concerns, including unpaid luxury boxes, compensation and travel. When the results are complete, the audit will be released to the public.

Governor: 27 Top DWI Fugitives Captured

STATE News:

SANTA FE – Gov. Susana Martinez today announced that 27 DWI fugitives on the state’s top 10 list have been captured since the Governor announced the initiative in December 2015. Additionally, 255 absconders with DWI issues have been captured.

“The number of fugitives who have now faced justice is encouraging,” Martinez said. “I’m very grateful to law enforcement for their hard work keeping our families safe, but there is so much more to do. I encourage everyone to keep an eye out. These absconders are dangerous and putting lives in danger.”

Secretary Zinke On Idaho’s Craters Of The Moon; Washington’s Hanford Reach National Monuments

WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke announced July 13 that Craters of the Moon National Monument in Idaho and Hanford Reach National monument in Washington are no longer under review and the Secretary will recommend that no modifications should be made to the monuments.
 
The monuments were under review in accordance with President Donald J. Trump’s April 26, 2017, executive order. The recommendation comes after review of public comments and conversations with stakeholders.
