SANTA FE ― The Senate confirmed the Governor’s nominee for secretary of the New Mexico Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD) in a 32-4 vote.
 
Ken McQueen is a former executive of WPX Energy, an Oklahoma-based fossil fuel company. During his time with the company, WPX was a top donor to Gov. Martinez’ reelection campaign, her political action committees and her legislative allies.

SANTA FE – Friday, Senate Bill 462 passed the New Mexico Legislature. Instead of funding infrastructure projects in their home communities, legislators chose to strengthen public schools’ bottom line statewide after several years of tough budgets.
