Letter To The Editor: Quoting Tweets And So Much More…

By “That” Concerned Citizen Again
Los Alamos

Mr. Visel, I am glad that we agree on the importance of the First Amendment for this country. However, I take exceptions to some statements in your letter (link).

It is telling that you complain about biased reporting of exactly the same “mainstream” media, as our president. You could as well just have posted Mr. Trump’s tweets. If this is your reliable source of news, than we already disagree here. His tweets for years have been proven (by facts) as rarely being truthful or respectful … but we have the First Amendment, so I guess this is ok.

Letter To The Editor: In Support Of Our Teachers…

By ELENA E. GIORGI
A concerned mother grateful for her children’s teachers

Dear Governor and dear Representatives who voted against the resolution that would’ve allowed teachers to take more than 3 sick days without penalty, let me ask you: how many times did you take a sick day this past year? How many times did you have to assist a sick family member, whether a child, a spouse, or an elderly parent? And all this when you hold a position that doesn’t keep you inside a classroom five days a week. Along with train stations and public places, schools are the primary route for the spread of infectious diseases Read More

Food Tax Defeated Once Again

Yet again this year there was a serious effort to reimpose the food tax. Along with three stand-alone food tax bills, the comprehensive tax reform package (House Bill 412) initially proposed to reimpose the food tax.

We firmly believe that a food tax has no place in a tax reform bill, and we were grateful that the House voted unanimously to remove the food tax from House Bill 412 before passing it. The Senate ultimately Read More
