DOE Exercises Both Option Periods On LANL Cleanup Bridge Contract

EM-LA News:

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Environmental Management – Los Alamos Field Office (EM-LA) exercised both the first and second option periods on the Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Bridge Contract today.

Each option period is for six-months and have a combined total value of $154.7 million. Exercising both option periods now extends the contract to Sept. 30, 2017. Prior to exercising these two options, the contract would have expired Sept. 30, 2016.

WASHINGTON, D.C.  Today, U.S. Sens. Tom Udall and Martin Heinrich and U.S. Rep. Steve Pearce announced a joint effort to urge the U.S. Air Force to relocate operational F-16 squadrons to Holloman Air Force Base and expand Holloman’s mission to include new F-16 formal training units.

The Democratic Party of Los Alamos County Central Committee has unanimously appointed Antonio Maggiore to fill a vacancy in this year’s County Council race.

Maggiore’s name will now be placed on the ballot for the Nov. 8 General Election. He replaces Kristin Henderson who withdrew her candidacy Friday to spend more time with family.
