SANTA FE — Gov. Susana Martinez has appointed Scott Weaver as secretary for the New Mexico Department of Public Safety (DPS).

Weaver has more than two decades of law enforcement experience, serving as an officer with the New Mexico State Police from 1994 to 2015, prior to his appointment by Martinez as deputy secretary of DPS.
