GRANT COUNTY — Aug. 31, 2025, at approximately 3:09 p.m., District 12 Officer Walker Eby responded to a call concerning a vehicle that had overturned on its side due to flooding on Stephens Road, near Buckhorn.

Upon arrival, Officer Eby observed a woman, a six-year-old child, and their dog sitting on their vehicle, which had been overturned by dangerous flooding currents. Officer Eby collaborated with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the Cliff Volunteer Fire Department, and local residents to devise a rescue plan.

Governor Signs Emergency Order For Mora County Flooding

STATE News:

SANTA FE — Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham issued two emergency orders on Friday to make $1.5 million in state funding available state agencies responding to the flooding in Mora County.

Los Alamos County Social Services Division is offering convenient evening hours at the Mesa Public Library to better assist people who may not be able to meet during regular business hours.
