Speed cameras are about as popular as chopped liver on a grade school cafeteria menu, just one of many modern inconveniences keeping us “safe”. County Emergency Management Invites Community To Take Evacuation Assistance Assessment Survey

Los Alamos County Emergency Management invites the community to participate in a short survey designed to help determine how many residents may require additional assistance during an evacuation. This includes individuals with access and functional needs such as mobility limitations, medical requirements, communication barriers, or lack of reliable transportation. FBI: Tohatchi Man Pleads Guilty To Violent Strangulation That Left Victim With Serious Injuries

FBI News:

ALBUQUERQUE — A Tohatchi man pleaded guilty to federal charges for attacking a female victim (Jane Doe) during an argument, leaving her with serious injuries.

According to court records, on March 5 and 6, 2024, Victor Badonie, 33, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, was with Jane Doe at her home in Zuni, New Mexico. An argument broke out, during which Badonie assaulted and strangled Doe, resulting in Jane Doe’s hospitalization for her serious bodily injuries.

Badonie pleaded guilty to the felony crimes of assault resulting in serious bodily injury and assault by strangulation. Read More

Los Alamos Police Arrest Woman In Vehicle Theft Case

LAPD News:

At approximately 9:15 a.m. today, Aug. 20, 2025, a female suspect stole a Los Alamos County vehicle from the area of Ashley Pond. Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) officers began canvassing the community in search of the stolen vehicle.

Approximately 90 minutes after the initial call, a Bandelier National Monument Park Ranger located the vehicle unoccupied at the White Rock Library. Responding officers initiated a search of the area and located the female suspect inside the women’s restroom of the library.
