WASHINGTON — The Minority Serving Institution Partnership Program (MSIPP) of the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) has awarded nine new grants totaling $38.8 million to build more partnerships with Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs), leverage untapped students, and expand its talent pipeline.

LANL: Researchers At Los Alamos Are Applying Machine Learning To Refine Earthquake Detection Capabilities

Researchers at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) are applying machine learning algorithms to help interpret massive amounts of ground deformation data collected with Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) satellites; the new algorithms will improve earthquake detection.

Report Gives New Mexico High Marks For Making Significant Strides In Computer Science Education Access

SANTA FE — New Mexico earned high marks for improving computer science education access in a new report that documents computer science education efforts in all 50 states.

Code.org, the Computer Science Teachers Association and the Expanding Computing Education Pathways Alliance, released the 2021 State of Computer Science Education: Accelerating Action Through Advocacy this week.

Anyone with an interest in star gazing and the chance to look for stars through a telescope is invited to come out Saturday night to Spirio Soccer Field at Overlook Park in White Rock.
