The Bradbury Science Museum (BSM) is partnering with the Bradbury Science Museum Association (BSMA) to recruit volunteers for its 2020 STEM Education Docent program.

People with a passion for science or education, who enjoy working with school-aged children and adolescents and can pass a background check, may find the docent program a great fit.

The Pajarito Astronomers will be holding its final County-Sponsored Dark Night of 2019 starting at 6 p.m. (sunset) Saturday, Nov. 2 at Spirio Soccer Field, Overlook Park in White Rock.

Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts from Los Alamos and White Rock gathered Saturday, Oct. 19 to earn their Programming Robots Badge by learning some basics about circuitry, programming and robotics. Girls practiced circuitry on littleBits and Cubelets electronics kits and practiced programming with Dash Robots. They ended the event with a Robot Dance Party, choreographed and programmed by the Brownies and Juniors. Bruce Carlsten, a radio frequency engineer at Los Alamos National Laboratory, was awarded the 2020 Robert R. Wilson Prize for Achievement in the Physics of Particle Accelerators, presented by the American Physical Society.
