Art From Czech Republic Featured In Los Alamos Exhibit

LAMOA News:

Los Alamos Museum of Art (LAMOA) is hosting several exhibits through July 24 at the Fuller Lodge Art Center.

One of these exhibits features folk art costumes from the Czech Republic, art Nuveau posters of the famous Czech artist Alfonse Mucha, marionettes and painted eggs.

LAMOA is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization seeking to acquire an adequate and permanent home for its vast collection of art, visit lamoa.com.

Taos School Of Music 2021 Chamber Music Festival With Borromeo Quartet, Robert McDonald And Young Artists

MUSIC News:

Founded in 1963, the Taos School of Music has celebrated chamber music with its live summer festival for the past six decades. This year, the school is offering audiences a Chamber Music Festival June 27 through Aug. 14.

The concerts will be recorded live at the Taos Ski Valley Village and will be broadcast a week later through the school’s website, taosschoolofmusic.com.

“I make jewelry just like I paint,” artist Vickie Deane said. “It’s all about color, composition and line.”

Deane has been an artist since childhood. Art supplies were her favorite toys. Originally from New York City, she graduated from Kent State in visual arts. Deane came to New Mexico in the mid-80s. She started making jewelry about 25 years ago, in addition to continuing to paint.
