DENVER, Colo. First National 1870 is accepting submissions for its Lights, Camera, Save! video contest.
 
The contest, organized by the American Bankers Association Foundation, is a national competition that encourages teens to use video to communicate the value of saving money and inspire their peers to become lifelong savers. WASHINGTON, D.C. Rep. Ben Ray Luján (D-NM) applauded the announcement Monday that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded more than $330,000 in grants to benefit New Mexico’s acequias and farmers and ranchers from tribal and pueblo communities.
 
Both grants have been awarded through the USDA’s Outreach and Assistance for Socially Disadvantaged Farmers and Ranchers and Veteran Farmers and Ranchers Program (or, the 2501 program).

Youth Activity Centers Red Ribbon Week Poster Contest In Final Stretch

Tuesday marked the official nation-wide start to Red Ribbon week and the Los Alamos and Youth Activity Centers poster contest is in the final stretch.

The third through eighth grade facilities have taken time throughout the campaign to encourage healthy choices, educate families and demonstrate how much fun there is to have on their journey.

SANTA FE — Educator and illusionist Kevin Spencer, an authority on using magic to teach students with special needs, will present his Hocus Focus learning workshops Nov. 5-9 in Santa Fe public schools.
