For the seventh year, the Los Alamos Opera Guild of The Guilds of The Santa Fe Opera, Inc., Atomic City Transit, and Bandelier National Monument will be presenting “Opera on the Rocks” at the Juniper Campground Amphitheater. This year it will be the evening of Saturday, Sept. 15.

Bandelier National Monument welcomes the first Artist in Residence of the 2018 season Thomas Perry.
 
Perry is from Houston, Texas, where he lives with his artist-author-poet wife, Carolyn Dahl. He is a ceramic artist who emphasizes the rich history of vessels that are used in a variety of cultures. Beginning with white clay, Perry often mixes colorants into the clay, then slices and carves to expose variegated patterns that resemble rock cores and earth layers.

LALT Hosts Play Reading: ‘Murder At The Lone Elm’

Los Alamos Little Theatre will host a play reading for “Murder at the Lone Elm” by Miles Ledoux at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18.  The reading, which

Albuquerque artist and activist Barbara Grothus has received a grant from the Fulcrum Fund through Albuquerque’s 516 ARTS, the designated New Mexico manager of the Fund on behalf of the Andy Warhol Foundation.

Scenes From Art In Public Places Ribbon Cutting For Wind Sculptures Installed At Mesa Public Library

Members of the Arts in Public Places Board, County Councilors and citizens took part in the ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday morning at Mesa Public Library. The ceremony officially recognized three new wind sculptures in front of the library. The pieces are called ‘Jelly Fish,’ ‘Split Infinity’ and ‘Ripple Sphere’.
