The Los Alamos County Council presented a proclamation in May, which recognizes the second week of June as Annual LGBTQ+ Pride Week. This is the first time Pride has been recognized or celebrated by the Los Alamos Community.
It started when three women, Tina DeYoe, Roberta Beal and Danielle Sutherland were sitting around talking about how great it would be if Los Alamos had its own Pride Week, as many other communities do.

UNM-Los Alamos will offer “Introduction to Opera” 6-9 p.m., Mondays beginning June 11.
For those who are curious about opera, or wishing to understand the allure of the world-famous Santa Fe Opera, this is the perfect learning opportunity. The initial class will provide an overview of opera, then each subsequent class will focus on one of the operas of the 2018 Santa Fe Opera season. Kids enjoy the bubble pit today during ChamberFest in downtown Los Alamos. ChamberFest is the annual street fair featuring Chamber members and hosted by the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce. At this event, Chamber member businesses and nonprofits showcase their products and services for tourists and locals alike. Booths are concentrated in and around Central Park Square and the green space area off Main Street and Central Avenue.
