Friday June 15, the Friends of Fort Union will host the “Martinez” Family Heritage Day. A Reception/Registration is June 14 at 116 Bridge St., in Las Vegas and the “Martinez” symposium June 15 at Ilfield Auditorium.

The Unitarian Church of Los Alamos Sage Concert Series presents Santa Fe musicians Albert Laszlo, double bass, and Patricia Wood, piano, for its summer concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 9.

 

The program will include works by J. S. Bach-Marcello, L. v. Beethoven, Pablo de Sarasate, D. Shostakovich, Issac Albeniz and Fritz Kreisler.  All transcriptions for piano and double bass are by Laszlo.

 

Admission is free but donations will be accepted.

ALBUQUERQUE ​As the 2017/2018 school year ends, the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science reports, 191 separate groups from New Mexico public and private schools have toured the Da Vinci—The Genius exhibition at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science since it opened February 10.

TAOS The Town of Taos is hosting a variety of musical performances this summer as part of a town-wide effort to promote music in northern New Mexico.
 
The various concerts, festivals and events that are sponsored by multiple organizations throughout Taos began in May and run through September.

Carol Fernandez and Fernando Castro, founders of the screen printing collective Amapolay will be in Santa Fe June 25-July 1. Amapolay will be collaborating with local print makers to create works around shared issues across international borders.

SANTA FE New Mexico Film Office Director Nick Maniatis announced Thursday that Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures (MGM) and Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Creed II” will film scenes in Deming in early June.
 
“Creed II,” the continuation of the Rocky saga and sequel to the 2015 critically acclaimed and crowd-pleasing hit Creed, stars Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone, reprising their roles of Adonis Creed and Rocky Balboa, respectively.
