USAF Academy Band Falconaires Plays Los Alamos

The United States Air Force Academy Band – The Falconaires jazz ensemble from Colorado Springs will perform a free concert at 3 p.m., Feb. 25 at Duane Smith Auditorium.

The concert evening will feature an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary jazz repertoire that celebrates our national heritage.

The concert is free and open to the public. Ticket distribution begins today at Smith’s Marketplace customer service desk.

The Los Alamos Big Band presents a Valentine’s Dance 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17 at Fuller Lodge.

 

Admission is $15 for couple, $10 for individuals and $5 for students. Admission is free for middle-school children and younger with a paying adult. Tickets are available at the door. Mesa Public Library Free Film Series Shows Milagro Beanfield War 6:30 p.m. Thursday

LIBRARY News:

Milagro Beanfield War, directed by Robert Redford, is the featured film at Mesa Public Library for February, airing 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the upstairs meeting rooms at Mesa Public Library.

It stars Ruben Blades, Richard Bradford, Sonia Braga, Melanie Griffith and Christopher Walken, among others. 

The film was shot in Northern New Mexico including Los Alamos and Truchas, and is being shown in conjunction with New Mexico Film Week Feb. 6 through 11.
