SANTA FE—Immerse yourself in cowboy culture Aug. 9-11 at the New Mexico History Museum’s Wild West Weekend, a special event celebrating the exhibition Cowboys Real and Imagined.
Cowboy musicians and poets join trick ropers, saddle makers, silversmiths and more to provide three days of hands-on fun for the whole family. Missoula Children’s Theatre Casting Call: ‘The Tortoise Versus The Hare’

Missoula Children’s Theatre is holding a casting call at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 22 at Crossroads Bible Church for The Tortoise Versus The Hare.
More than 50 roles will be cast for students entering first through twelfth grades. A parent/guardian must be with each child when registering in order to sign the permission form.
All auditioners should plan to attend the entire morning audition and, if selected, have an open calendar for the week of July 22-26, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and all day and evening Saturday, July 27. Audition is free. Cost is $35 per child who is cast for the

In 1864, President Abraham Lincoln presented silver-headed ebony canes to the Governors of the 19 New Mexico Pueblos to recognize their authority, sovereignty, and relationship with the Federal government. About 26,000 people attended the June 28-July 1 American Library Association Annual Conference and Exhibition at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
