SHELTER News:

Kona is a 4-year-old spayed female German shepherd mix. She was surrendered due to not tolerating the excessive attention of the young child in the household.

She would prefer a home with no kids, as she gets a little nervous in new situations and prefers gentle pets and attention on her own terms. On the leash, Kona walks like the gentle lady that she is.

The Los Alamos Animal Shelter, 226 East Road, 505.662.8179, has a great selection of adoptable pets; see the Petfinder website for photos here. For information about volunteering, Read More

U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich, D-N.M. released the following statement Wednesday after S. 2569, the Bring Jobs Home Act, failed to overcome a procedural hurdle that requires 60 votes, with a vote of 54 to 42.

The bill, supported by Heinrich, would protect and promote U.S. job growth by ending a tax incentive for moving jobs overseas and creating a new tax incentive for bringing jobs back to the U.S.
