RTD Mountain Trail Route From Downtown Santa Fe To Ski Santa Fe To Launch In October

The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) has announced that it will launch its RTD (“Blue Bus”) Mountain Trail route in October providing service from areas around downtown Santa Fe to recreational areas and businesses along NM 475 concluding at Ski Santa Fe.
 
A unique collaboration of public and private supporters have been brought together to fund the route. The sponsors include: the City of Santa Fe, Santa Fe County, Ski Santa Fe, Rio Metro RTD and the North Central Regional Transit District.

Registration For Dog Training Classes Begins June 4

Registration for the next session of dog training classes offered by the Los Alamos Dog Obedience Club (LADOC) will begin June 4. 
 
Classes this session will include Puppy Kindergarten, Basic Manners, Beginning Agility, Self-Directed Practice, Continuing Scent Work, and Recall, and will begin the week of July 13. There are now three easy ways to register!  
 
1. In-person on June 4, 6 to 7:30 p.m. at LADOC (246 East Road, near East Park. Please bring vaccination records, registration form, and payment.

National Homeownership Month Celebrated In June

ALBUQUERQUE  USDA Rural Development State Director Terry Brunner announces that the 18th National Homeownership Month celebration begins today in New Mexico.
 
The celebration will begin with an award ceremony in Albuquerque to honor the late Albert “Al” Heller with the housing HERO award.
 
The “HERO” award is given to someone in the housing industry in New Mexico who has been exemplary in their work to provide housing opportunities to the people of New Mexico. The HERO Award will be given posthumously to his widow Kathy Heller and his son David.

Historical Society’s Summer History Adventures June 2

History Adventures is an 8-week kids program of hands-on activities about local history sponsored by the Los Alamos Historical Society.
 
Starting June 2 and going through July 21, activities are repeated at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. every Tuesday morning on the lawn of Fuller Lodge. Activities are aimed at children in grades K–3, but are open to everyone! History Adventures is free and no registration is required.

This tortie cat with little tan paws was found roaming Sunday on Questa Street in Los Alamos.

She is safe at the Los Alamos Animal Shelter. She is very friendly. Her family must be missing her.

Anyone with information about this cat is asked to contact the Los Alamos Animal Shelter at 226 East Road or call 505.662.8179.

Shelter hours are noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 3 p.m. Sundays.
