Bandelier Centennial Logo Deadline Extended

A few weeks ago Bandelier National Monument sent out a call to artists to submit entries for the logo for the park’s Centennial Celebration. The deadline for entries has now been extended to Thursday, March 26.
 
Bandelier was established Feb. 11, 1916, and the staff are looking forward to a festive Centennial year. 
 
The logo will be used throughout the year on many centennial items, as well as on the 2016 Bandelier Annual Pass. The winning artist will receive an America the Beautiful pass, which provides free admission to federal

The University of New Mexico-Los Alamos (UNM-LA) will be offering a unique landscape photography class that allows students to explore areas of the Valles Caldera National Preserve, which are normally closed to the general public.
 
Southwest Landscape Photography at the Valles Caldera is offered through UNM-LA Community Education 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at the Valles Caldera National Preserve. The cost for the class is $80.

The Los Alamos High School and Los Alamos Middle School speech and debate teams are hosting a waffle breakfast in conjunction with the Parajito Masonic Lodge to fund their trips to the National Speech and Debate Tournament this June in Dallas, Texas.

Recently, Mo Rocca on a CBS childrens program, interviewed a gentleman who was inventing see-through solar panels, which could be used as windows on buildings. Mo started the interview by stating that everyone knew that renewable energy was too expensive. Frankly, the thought of Mr. Creflo Dollar asking his church members for $65 million to buy a new jet plane, makes me sick.
 
As someone who read the Bible four times before entering high school and as someone who has tried to follow the teachings of Jesus, I recently reread his words to see exactly what he said. He told his disciples to go out into the world and to make more disciples by loving others the way he loved them.
