Tom Gattis, former singer/guitarist for 90’s Heavy/Power Metal band Wardog announces the upcoming release of an old song titled “Clouds Of Magellan,” which is sung in the Klingon language.
 
Klingon is a well-known language originating from the Star Trek television series.
 
Wardog originated from Phoenix, Ariz., in 1994, but disbanded in 2000. Tom Gattis has lived in Los Alamos since 2009 and works at Los Alamos National Laboratory

WIPP Hosts All-Hazards Planning Meeting

WIPP hosted the first annual All-Hazards, Offsite Interface Briefing and Regional Radiological Response Planning Meeting Feb. 20 to provide information on changes and enhancements to WIPP’s Emergency Management Program and how these changes would be coordinated with WIPP’s offsite partners.

I thought I would take a moment to respond to Monique Beyerle’s distorted reporting (letter) on trapping in New Mexico in the Feb. 24 edition of the Los Alamos Daily Post.

I would encourage everyone to get online and read the New Mexico Dept. of Game and Fish’s five pages of regulations pertaining to trapping of wildlife in NM that is included in the current years hunting rules and info. The Santa Fe Council on International Relations (CIR) presents Great Decisions, a program of eight discussion topics focusing on current world affairs.

The United Church of Los Alamos has announced their Mexico Mission Auction date, changing the date from a Sunday to a Saturday.
 
The event will take place March 21 with a silent auction at 2 p.m., followed at 3 p.m. with a live auction. The funds will send students and sponsors to build homes for the poor during spring break.
