This Friday, May 28, the 2021 Los Alamos Summer Concert Series presented by Toyota of Santa Fe, presents the second concert of the virtual series.

Bandelier & Valles Caldera Reiterate Fire Restriction Details

BANDELIER News:

Following the Stage 1 Fire Restriction implemented Monday, May 24 by the Santa Fe National Forest, Bandelier Acting Superintendent Dennis Milligan and Valles Caldera Superintendent Jorge Silva-Banuelos would like to remind visitors that Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are in place year-round at Bandelier and Valles Caldera.

SFNF: Cuervito Fire Update May 25, 2021

SFNF News:

The Santa Fe National Forest reports that areas that received rain are beginning to dry out around the Cuervito Fire 9 miles east of Pecos and 3 miles southwest of the Barillas Lookout on the Pecos/Las Vegas Ranger District.

As the fire moves through unburned interior pockets of fuel, fire managers are seeing an increase in smoke production during the day.

Firefighters continued to secure the fire edge along the southern perimeter and monitor the interior.

WASHINGTON D.C. — U.S. Senators Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) today introduced the Midwives for Midwives for Maximizing Optimal Maternity Services (MOMS) Act to address the maternal and infant mortality crisis by increasing the number of trained midwives in the United States.
