WASHINGTON, D.C. — Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-NM), Chairman of the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee (JEC), released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that prices measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased 0.6% in August compared with the 0.2% increase in June and July.
Data also show that annual prices grew only 3.7%, down sharply from the peak rate of 9.1% last June.

Los Alamos County Public Works Department has announced the launch of a new Adopt-A-Road program.

Samizdat Bookstore and Teahouse is hosting its second annual fundraiser for the First Born Program Sept. 15-Oct. 31 to purchase books for babies, young children and their families.

PRC Approves Settlement Requiring PNM To Provide $115 Million In Credits To Customers To Reflect ETA Bond Savings
SIERRA CLUB News:
The Public Regulation Commission Thursday approved a settlement between multiple environmental and consumer groups and the PNM agreed to deliver $115 million back to PNM customers in a settlement agreement with advocacy groups.
These savings come from expected savings from Energy Transition Act bonds. The bonds were meant to refinance PNM’s previous investments in the plant that customers would otherwise still have to pay off after the plant was no longer producing electricity.
