The Los Alamos County Health Council announces the launch of a comprehensive Health Care Quality and Accessibility Survey, aimed at gathering information and input regarding the health and well-being of the community.
Invitations to take the survey will be mailed to all Los Alamos County residents the week of Sept. 18, 2024. The survey is an integral part of the County’s efforts to evaluate and enhance local health services and inform the development of effective health programs, policies, and the Los Alamos County Comprehensive Health Plan.

The Los Alamos County Community Development Department (CDD) is notifying the public that all users of the Citizen Self Service Portal, which includes planning, business licenses, land use and building permitting, will need to create new accounts, even if they previously had one.
This update is part of ongoing improvements to enhance the user experience within the system.

Diamond Drive Crack Sealing Rescheduled To Start Tonight
Due to recent weather impacts, the Diamond Drive Pavement Preservation project has been rescheduled to commence tonight.
The Los Alamos County Traffic & Streets Division, in collaboration with Dismuke Contractors, will undertake crack sealing on Diamond Drive from the hospital to the North Mesa Roundabout.

Early Morning Crash Results In Death Of Los Alamos Man
The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) would like to inform the public of a fatal crash that occurred early this morning near the intersection of N.M. 502 and Camino Entranda.
This morning, Sept. 6, 2024, at about 5:16 a.m., LAPD responded to a 911 call reporting a two-vehicle accident on N.M. 502 near the intersection of Camino Entrada. Officers arrived on scene a few minutes after the call was received. The Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) was also notified and on scene within minutes of notification and began treating three patients involved in the crash.

County Update On Bathtub Row Reconstruction Project
Los Alamos County Public Works Department, in partnership with Department of Public Utilities and under contract with TLC Plumbing & Utility, continues to work on the Bathtub Row Reconstruction Project.
The project limits are Bathtub Row from Central Avenue to Peach Street, Peach/Nectar Street to 15th Street and utility improvements along 15th Street.
The project is divided into two phases with Phase 1 to be completed prior to winter. Phase 2 will start after a winter suspension, with a project substantial completion date of August 2025.

LAPD Warns Of Scam Targeting Los Alamos Residents
The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) is warning the public of a recent scam targeting Los Alamos County residents.
LAPD has recently received several reports of scam emails threatening to release personal information or videos unless payment is made to an unknown scammer.
LAPD advises the public to take the following steps when receiving such an email:
- Label the email as spam or fraud;
- Delete the email; and
- Do not send any money, Bitcoin information, or communications to the scammer.
These scams are often designed to create fear and pressure the recipient into acting quickly. Read More
Diamond Drive Crack Sealing Starts Friday Sept. 6

Los Alamos County Traffic & Streets Division, in coordination with Dismuke Contractors, are planning to perform pavement preservation (crack sealing) on Diamond Drive.
To minimize disruption to the travelling public, this work is planned from Friday, Sept. 6 through Wednesday, Sept. 11.
Beginning Friday morning, crews will start at the North Mesa roundabout and work west towards the golf course. On Saturday and Sunday, crews will start at Los Alamos Medical Center and work north and east to the golf course.
