PCNM Discontinues COVID-19 Testing In Los Alamos

COUNTY News:

Due to staffing issues, Pathology Consultants of New Mexico (PCNM) will no longer provide drive through COVID-19 testing service in the Mari Mac Village shopping center parking lot at 759 Central Ave. effective today. 

Rapid PCR testing is still available 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday with Curative at White Rock Town Hall, 139 Long View Dr. Visit the Curative website to schedule a date and time.

County: RediNet Internet Access Remains Down

COUNTY News:

8:45 a.m.: RediNet internet access is still experiencing an outage.

There is no current time for when services will be back up, but the County IT Division is working closely with RediNet to assist in any way possible. 

County services that use RediNet will be unable to access the internet during this time.

Examples include:

  • MyDrive traffic cameras;
  • Public Wi-Fi at all County sites and downtown; and
  • Public library kiosks at both libraries.

Council Adopts Revisions To Chapter 18 Nuisance Code

Los Alamos County Councilor Sara Scott during Tuesday night’s regular council meeting makes the motion to adopt Ordinance No. 02-334, to repeal and replace the text in Chapter 18 of the County Code, which addresses nuisances. Periodic Lane Closure On DP Road Through Friday

COUNTY News:

Contractors for Los Alamos County are constructing a sidewalk extension along the southside of DP Road from the end of the existing sidewalk east of 6th Street to Trinity Drive.

During this activity, a lane closure on DP Road will be needed periodically.  Contractor employees (flaggers) will be used to direct traffic and pedestrians safely through the work area during these times.

Drivers and pedestrians are asked to use caution and follow the direction of the flaggers.

This work is expected to be completed by Friday Dec. 2.

Former Los Alamos County Councilor Diane Albert Believed To Be Victim Of Murder-Suicide

A spokesperson for the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) has confirmed to the Los Alamos Daily Post this afternoon that Diane Albert (former Los Alamos County Councilor and LANL employee) is the victim of what is believed to be a murder-suicide in her residence Friday afternoon in Albuquerque.

A friend of the decedents contacted deputies after receiving a troubling message from Albert’s husband Eric Pinkerton, according to BCSO. Upon arrival, deputies located the decedents, Albert, 65, and Pinkerton, 63, inside the residence along with several dead animals. Read More

The Los Alamos County Council will hear a request from the Los Alamos County Community Development Department (CDD) to amend the Chapter 16 Development Code, with a comprehensive update through Ordinance 02-333 to be considered for adoption, during a public hearing and presentation 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Los Alamos County Community Services Department has partnered with the Los Alamos Hockey Association (LAHA) to bring a 3-day hockey event to our Los Alamos County outdoor ice rink: The Los Alamos Winter Classic, Dec. 9–11, 2022.
