Atomic City Transit (ACT) Peak Service on Routes 1 and 6 will be suspended starting Monday, Dec. 12 until further notice.

The Community Development Advisory Board (CDAB) is no more. Los Alamos County Council voted 5-2 during its regular meeting Tuesday night to pass an ordinance to remove CDAB as a permanent board of the County.

County Council Chair Randall Ryti and Councilor David Reagor voted against the ordinance.

Traffic Camera Installation At Trinity Intersection Dec. 8

Los Alamos County has announced that traffic electricians will be installing new traffic cameras at the intersection of Trinity Drive on the southwest corner of the intersection at Diamond Drive.

Work will begin 8 a.m. and run through 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8.

The turn/accel lane leading from west Trinity Drive heading south onto Diamond Drive will be closed. Vehicle traffic will need to make a right turn at the intersection onto Diamond Drive.

Los Alamos County Biennial Community Survey Mailed To Select Households Today

Los Alamos County, in partnership with its contractor National Research Center, kicks-off its biennial Community Survey.

More than 2,500 postcards were dropped in the mail today, Dec. 5, to randomly selected households throughout Los Alamos and White Rock. Recipients are invited to partake in this survey online, or if preferred, wait for a paper copy to follow.

The survey aims to provide a comprehensive picture of citizen perspectives on community livability.

Fiber Optic Work On West Road & Fairway Begins Dec. 7

Under contract with the Los Alamos County Information Management Division, Bixby Electric Inc. will install fiber optics in the County rights-of-way on the southeast side of West Road, between Diamond and Fairway, and the south side of Fairway at the West Road intersection heading west approximately 300 feet.

This work supports a project to bring fiber optics to the Los Alamos County Ice Rink.

Construction will begin Wednesday, Dec. 7, and may continue through Saturday, Dec. 10.

Local Libraries Offer Free Digital Access To NYT Games

The Los Alamos County Library System is offering free digital access to New York Times (NYT) Games such as Wordle, Sudoku, Crossword and Mini Crossword, Spelling Bee and more.

The local libraries also are hosting a two-month-long, self-paced challenge around this service to familiarize library users with the individual games (fun freebies and incentives included).
