To keep construction crews and the public safe during the demolition of the Hilltop House Hotel, a lane closure, sidewalk closure and detour will be implemented near the roundabout 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 on N.M. 502 and Trinity Drive.
Motorists traveling westbound on N.M. 502 will follow a short detour on Central Avenue and use Knecht Street or 15th Street to access Trinity Drive.

Council Action Taken Tuesday Oct. 18, 2022
In response to a recommendation made by local golfers as well as Los Alamos Golf Association (LAGA) members, County Council unanimously agreed Tuesday night to add a fifth option, Option E, to the list of possible design concepts for the County golf course project.
The motion to add the fifth option was passed 6-0. Councilor David Izraelevitz was absent.
Council is scheduled to decide on which design concept option to proceed with during its Nov. 15 meeting.

LAPD To Conduct DEA Drug Take Back Day Oct. 29
LAPD News:
National Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, Oct. 29, and the Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) will be conducting its biannual DEA Drug Take Back Day.
This event is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the North parking lot (off Central Avenue) of LAPD.
The following items will not be accepted: Needles/sharps, any liquids or creams, and aerosol/ compressed medications.

Curative Temporarily Moving Testing To UNM-LA Campus

Curative will temporarily move its COVID-19 PCR rapid testing site at the White Rock Town Hall to Building 8 on the UNM-LA campus at 4000 University Dr. in Los Alamos.
The move frees up the White Rock space for early voting. Curative will be in its new home beginning Wednesday, Oct. 19 through Wednesday, Nov. 9.

County: Natural Gas Line Purging Tuesday In White Rock
Purging natural gas from a newly installed pipeline at Rover Boulevard and N.M. 4 will occur Tuesday, Oct. 18, as part of a natural gas system improvement project by the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU).
DPU contractor Dub-L-EE will purge the line at various times between 8 a.m. and noon.
According to department officials, individuals near the area may smell natural gas and hear loud noises during the purging procedure.

Due to extenuating circumstances, Premiere Medical Group (PMG) is canceling the COVID-19 bivalent Omicron booster clinic scheduled for today, Oct. 17, at the First Baptist Church.

CTC Technology and Energy, under contract to Los Alamos County, opened the online broadband survey and speed test Oct. 14 to all community members.
The comprehensive survey and speed test assess broadband availability, affordability, and accessibility throughout the county.
