Iris Street Water Work To Continue Tuesday

Gas, Water, and Sewer crews from the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) will be returning to Iris St. Tuesday to work on a water line replacement.

Drivers should expect to see traffic controls in place 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. while work is underway.

Signs warning motorists of the road closure will be placed at the corner of Iris Street and 6th Street. A short section of Iris Street will be closed near the middle of the block. DPU crews will restrict traffic to only those residents Read More

Public Meeting On Atomic City Transit Plan Oct. 6, 2022

As part of the monthly Los Alamos County Transportation Board meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, board members will hear a presentation on the Atomic City Transit (ACT) Plan under development.

Los Alamos County administrative offices will be closed Monday, Oct. 10, in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day is celebrated on the second Monday of October to honor Native American peoples and commemorate their histories and cultures. The celebrating of an Indigenous Peoples Day took root at an international conference on discrimination sponsored by the United Nations in 1977.

In 2021, President Biden was the first U.S. president to formally recognize the day as a national holiday.
