COUNTY News:

At the Health Commons, two healthcare providers, the New Mexico Department of Health and Las Clinicas Del Norte, are available to serve the community.

The Health Commons is at 1183 Diamond Dr., Suite D, across from Los Alamos High School on the left side of the building.

The New Mexico Department of Health is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Las Clinicas Del Norte has office hours in Los Alamos 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday.

The Department of Health offers many resources, among them are sexual health services, such as  STI/STD, HIV and pregnancy tests. Family Read More

The Los Alamos County Board of Public Utilities (BPU) will hold a Closed Session 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7 that is not open to the public.

BPU also will hold a Work Session 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, which is open to the public.

Both meetings will be conducted remotely over Zoom. Neither session will be live-streamed on the County website.

Los Alamos Police Charge 19-Year-Old Man In Criminal Sexual Abuse Case

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department Criminal Investigations Section is investigating a criminal sexual abuse case involving a child under the age of 13 years that occurred at the Little Forest Playschool in Los Alamos.

LAPD Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for 19-year-old William Louis Macinnes, a Los Alamos resident.

Macinnes is being held in the Los Alamos County Detention Center on the following charges:

A 4-inch natural gas distribution line was damaged at about noon today by a construction contractor working on the Canyon Road Reconstruction Project.

The hit caused natural gas to leak near the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Gold Street Apartments.

LAPD Special Alert: Gas Leak On Canyon Road

LAPD News:

According to the Los Alamos Police Department, there is a reported gas leak on Canyon Road near Los Alamos High School. Field crews have the leak partially closed.

There is a shelter in place for the following locations:

UNM Lobo Men’s Golf Team Kicking Off 2022/23 Season With Intra-Squad Match At Los Alamos County Golf Course

The UNM Lobo Men’s Golf team will be kicking-off their 2022/2023 season at Los Alamos County Golf Course Monday, Sept. 5, with a media hour and intra-squad match.

Following the intra-squad tournament, the UNM Lobo Men’s Golf Team will play their first NCAA Division 1 tournament Sept. 9, in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Small Business Recovery Assistance Program Launches Grants Funded Through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)

Economic Development Administrator Dan Ungerleider announced today the launch of Los Alamos County’s online Small Business Recovery Assistance Program, funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

As of today, Los Alamos small business owners who suffered financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic can visit the County’s dedicated website, ARPA.losalamosnm.us to apply.

Signed into law by President Biden in 2021, the ARPA package provides $350 billion of relief to states, territories, and tribal and local governments in the wake of the public health emergency. Read More
