The recipient of the 2022 Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) Ray Picard Award is Senior Management Analyst Norma Jean Valdez of the Los Alamos County Fire Department, a CFAI Accredited Agency.

Canyon Rim Trail Closed Intermittently Through April 1
COUNTY News:
Contractors for Qualcon Builders (Canyon Walk Apartments) will be placing rock along the southside of the Canyon Rim Trail between DP Road and the DP Canyon Bridge 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Friday April 1.
During this activity, the southside of the trail will be closed intermittently when the rock is being placed by a small piece of equipment. Contractor employees (flaggers) will be on site to direct trail users safely through the work area during these times.

The Hilltop House Hotel has become a landmark for all the wrong reasons. It has transformed into an unsightly building that poses a danger to public health and safety. Plus, it makes for an embarrassing first impression of the town.
The plan is that by March 30, the whole building will be demolished, and this infamous landmark will disappear.

After Nearly 5 Hours Council Recesses On Sirphey Appeal

After almost five hours of oral arguments, periods of questions and answers and two executive sessions, no final decisions were made regarding the Sirphey, LLC appeal to Los Alamos County Council on two orders made in January by the Board of Appeals.
