New Mexico COVID-19 Update Jan. 13, 2022: 5,547 New Cases, Totaling 393,736 With 36 Deaths & 321,858 Recovered

SANTA FE — New Mexico state health officials announced 5,547 new COVID-19 cases today.
Los Alamos County reported 15 new cases today, bringing the total to 1,439 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)
This update includes 36 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19 and a 7-Day positivity rate of 27.8 percent.
Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are:
- 1513 new cases in Bernalillo County
- 5 new cases in Catron County

Los Alamos County Atomic City Transit Suspends Route 2M (Main Hill), Route 6 Peak, Dial-A-Ride Effective Immediately
COUNTY News:
Effective Immediately Atomic City Transit (ACT) Route 2M (Main Hill), Route 6 Peak and Dial-a-Ride services are suspended through the remainder of the day due to a staffing shortage.
Riders should plan to use Route 2T (Truck Route) and fixed Route 6, which will continue to operate on regular schedule 5:55 a.m. until 6:58 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Due to growing COVID-19 concerns, and in continuing to align with directives from the Los Alamos County Manager’s Office, County Clerk Naomi Maestas will be taking proactive measures to ensure the safety of citizens and employees.

At the request of Los Alamos County, the Los Alamos Teen Center (LATC) is temporarily halting its programs and reducing its maximum attendance through Jan. 25 at which point the County will reassess the situation.
Beginning today, the maximum capacity allowed in the LATC is 10 teens at one time. This will continue through Jan. 22 when Los Alamos High School ends its temporary remote instruction period.

SANTA FE: The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) has announced that a temporary disruption in the electronic lab reporting (ELR) feed occurred that impacted the number of new COVID-19 case counts announced Tuesday by the NMDOH.
The anomaly resulted in an artificial lowering of new COVID-19 cases as reported in Tuesday’s daily case count press release.

Atomic City Transit Requiring Social Distancing And Limiting Capacity Beginning Thursday Jan. 13

Due to the increased number of positive cases in Los Alamos and surrounding areas, Atomic City Transit will adhere to 6-foot social distancing and limiting capacity on fixed route services beginning Thursday, Jan. 13.
To maintain employee and passenger safety we continue to require that all passengers wear a face covering to board and ride the bus.

County Update: Power Now Restored To All Customers In Oppenheimer, Trinity Through Western Area Neighborhoods
COUNTY News:
Los Alamos County Department of Public Utilities reports that the power outage that occured overnite affecting customers in the Oppenheimer, Trinity through Western Area neighborhoods is now restored.
Power was restored to the majority of customers around 11 p.m. Tusesday.
Customers in Trinity Village and Caballo Peak Apartments were without power until around 8:30 this morning.

Los Alamos County Department of Public Utilities crews responded late Monday night to a power outage in neighborhoods near Oppenheimer and Trinity Drive through Western Area (the Circuit 13).
About 1,300 customers were affected.
