LAPD News:
In response to a middle school student’s tragic loss of life in Albuquerque on Friday, Aug. 13, 2021, the Los Alamos Police Department, in partnership with Project Childsafe, would like to offer free gun locks to the community.
This tragedy might have been avoided if the firearm was properly locked and secured.
Utilizing gun locks is one way to reduce the chances of a gun being misused.
Following best practice firearm safety rules, LAPD recommends that all firearms be secured in a locked firearm safe, and ammunition should be stored in a separate locked container.
