The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) wants to know if anyone in the community has been the victim of a catfishing scam.
What Is Catfishing?
Catfishing is when a person takes information and images, typically from another person, and uses them to create a new identity for themselves. In some cases, a catfisher steals another individual’s complete identity; including images, date of birth, and geographical location, pretending it is their own. New Mexico Department Of Health Provides Guidance On Requesting COVID-19 Vaccine Replacement Cards
NMDOH News:
Due to the increase in requests for replacement vaccine cards, the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) has provided the following guidance:
If an individual has a damaged or lost vaccine card, they can access their vaccine records at www.vaxviewnm.org and download an official copy of the record for use. This record also will include any additional vaccines received recently.
Some individuals who received their COVID-19 vaccine early on (December 2020 or January 2021) may not see their vaccine on Vax View. In this case, individuals should call the NMDOH COVID-19 Hotline at Read More

Council Quorum Notice: Art Dedication Ceremony ‘Lizard’

Los Alamos County has issued a quorum notice stating that members of the Council may attend the Art Dedication Ceremony ‘Lizard’ 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 at the Los Alamos Nature Center.

New Mexico COVID-19 Update Aug. 21-23: 2,201 New Cases, Totaling 225,994 With 9 New Deaths And 200,060 Recovered
STATE News:
SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials announced 2,201 additional COVID-19 cases between Saturday Aug. 21 and Monday Aug. 23.
Los Alamos County reports 9 new cases bringing the total to 605 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)
This update includes 9 new deaths in New Mexico Friday related to COVID-19.
Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are:
- 501 new cases in Bernalillo County
- 2 new cases in Catron County
- 164 new

Curative COVID-19 Testing is available today as a “walk-up testing clinic” in Los Alamos in the parking lot of Mari Mac Village Shopping Center at 759 Central Ave.
Testing also is available at the Los Alamos Public Health Office. The test at either location is FREE.
