Los Alamos MainStreet announced today that Los Alamos County Council will discuss the designation of the White Rock Commercial Center as a Metropolitan Redevelopment Area (MRA) at the upcoming Council meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 18.

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials have announced this afternoon 205 additional positive tests for COVID-19.
Los Alamos County has another new case bringing today’s total to 22 cases that have tested positive for COVID-19.
Today’s update announces 4 additional death reported in New Mexico related to COVID-19.
The New Mexico Department of Health reported today the most recent cases:

Traffic Alert: Water Line Break On Los Pueblos Street
COUNTY News:
Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities water crews are responding to a water line break on Los Pueblos Street west of Bonita Place on Barranca Mesa.
Customers in the area are experiencing low to no water pressure.
Excavation is occurring on the north side of the street with some impacts to west bound traffic at the construction zone.
Crews estimate that water services will be restored by 6 p.m. today.

To better understand health needs in Los Alamos County, Kulik Strategic Advisors was hired to conduct a Health Services Gap Analysis.
The analysis’ findings were presented during the Tuesday night regular County Council meeting.

Community Invited To Attend Virtual Visioning Workshops For Downtown Master Plans For White Rock And Los Alamos

Two upcoming “virtual” workshops will offer residents in White Rock and Los Alamos their first opportunity to voice ideas about the future of the two downtown areas.
The first GoToWebinar, facilitated by the County’s consultants from Dekker/Perich/Sabatini (DPS), will be specifically for White Rock residents and the second workshop using GoToWebinar will focus on the downtown area of Los Alamos.
The ‘Downtown Master Plans and Development Code Update’ is a two-year project initiated by Los Alamos County, starting in June 2020.
