The Regional Coalition of LANL Communities (RCLC) Board of Directors held its April meeting virtually Friday afternoon due to the state mandate for social distancing.

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Budget Hearings continue at 6 p.m. Monday, April 27 in Council Chambers.

The format will be the same format used for the budget hearings last week that comply with the recent New Mexico Department of Health’s public emergency order governing mass gathering because of COVID-19.

Los Alamos Police Solve Six More Burglaries

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department has announced that six more burglaries were solved Wednesday, April 22, as a result of work conducted by the Criminal Investigations Section.

Five juveniles will have charges forwarded to the Office of Juvenile Probation and Parole in connection with these crimes that occurred in early April in White Rock.

Also, an additional larceny case in White Rock reported after the burglaries was solved and was related to the five juvenile suspects. Some of the stolen property associated with these cases has been returned to the victims.

Los Alamos County Facilities Continue Closures To Align With Governor’s Statewide Extension Order To May 15

County Manager Harry Burgess announced today the following facilities will remain closed until May 15 due to the recent order issued by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham:

Both public libraries, the Aquatic Center, Fuller Lodge, History Museum, Teen Center, both Youth Activity Centers, the Nature Center, Golf Course pro shop, and Fuller Lodge Art Center; all programs, classes and activities in those facilities are cancelled.

LAPD Passes Second National Accreditation Review

LAPD News:

Los Alamos Police Chief Dino Sgambellone is proud to announce that the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) has successfully completed the second annual review of the advanced law enforcement accreditation program.

Los Alamos Police Department completed the week long review this week.
