It’s Los Alamos County Fair And Rodeo Time!

COUNTY News:
The community is invited to head downtown Saturday for the the Annual Los Alamos County Fair & Rodeo Parade, which kicks off at 10 a.m., then stay to meander through Ashley Pond Park with its fair booths, bouncy houses and exhibits (at Mesa Public Library).
Also, shop the beautiful artwork offered during the 39th Annual Summer Arts & Crafts Fair on the lawn at Fuller Lodge. There will be plenty of food vendors on site so stay and enjoy a picnic lunch by the pond.

Council Approves Purchase Of WAC Building

Rover Park Play Lot Closed For Wasp Removal
COUNTY News:
Los Alamos County has advised that the Rover Park Play Lot on Rover Boulevard in White Rock is closed until Friday.
The County Parks Division is removing wasps from the play lot, and for safety reasons, does not want children in the area during the removal operation. Read More

Quorum Notice: APP Board May Attend Art Fair

Members of the Arts in Public Places Board may attend the annual Arts and Craft Fair at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 on the lawn at Fuller Lodge, in order to gather public opinion.
A quorum may be present, however no action will be taken by the board.

County Tests School Zone Flashing Lights Aug. 13-14
COUNTY News: Traffic and Streets Division crews will be testing School zone flashing lights County-wide Aug. 13-14 in preparation for the upcoming school year.
If motorists notice the lights flashing during hours outside of a normal school day over these two days, be advised this is a standard procedure for testing the lights. Please do not call Police Dispatch or Traffic/Streets Division to report the activity.
Crews will be working near busy streets while testing the lights; please slow down and use caution.
School begins Thursday, Aug. 15. Motorists are reminded to watch for lower speeds

During a tour Wednesday with local officials and media, Andrea Sandoval of the Las Clinicas del Norte opens the door to the newly remodeled Health Commons, formally known as the Public Health Office at 1183 Diamond Dr., Ste. In an effort to meet its goal of enhancing support and opportunities for the local business environment, the Los Alamos County Council will consider at its meeting Tuesday evening, introducing Ordinance No. 695, which adopts an economic development project for public support of TNJLA LLC.
The requested public support is for a grant of County owned parcels of land on 20th Street Extension, which has the “Smart House” on
