Mesa Public Library at 2400 Central Ave., is the Los Alamos branch of the Los Alamos County Library System. The library collection has more than 160,000 items, which include books, CD’s, DVD’s, original paintings, and material in several foreign languages. The Los Alamos Fire Department has 25 firefighters responding to a 4 acre fire down in Los Alamos Canyon now known as the Omega Fire burning near the Canyon Rim Trailhead – eastern edge of Los Alamos, south side, across N.M. 502 and the Los Alamos Co+op Market and Holiday Inn Express.

News Alert: Water Break On Trinity Drive
COUNTY News:
Crews with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities have responded at about 11:30 a.m. today to a water break on Trinity Drive, west of 20 Street and across from Ashley Pond Park.
Mobilization of traffic control devices and excavation equipment was expected to occur around noon.
East bound traffic will be affected. For the safety of the crews and public, motorists are advised to slow down and obey traffic signs.

An exciting project is nearing completion in the White Rock Branch Library on Sherwood Boulevard.
Installation will begin April 25 for “Kites of Many Colors”, a project consisting of woven glass kites that will be installed over the fireplace in the branch library.
This project is by Markow and Norris who are nationally renowned glass artists.

The Democratic Party of Los Alamos County (DPLAC) will hold combined ward meetings and county convention at 9:30 a.m Saturday, April 6, 2019 in Fuller Lodge.

News Alert:
Water crews with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities are responding today to a another water break in White Rock.
The break is on Rover Boulevard between N.M. 4 and Meadow Lane. Crews will be working in the middle of the road dropping the center lane north of Meadow to repair the water distribution line.
Motorists are asked to obey the speed limit and traffic control devices. It was not necessary to shut off water services for customers. They are backfilling and cleaning up the site. Crews estimate that by 5 p.m. they will complerte the work.
