Left Turning Lane Closure Diamond At Trinity Drive

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Traffic and Streets crews will be closing the left turn lane at Diamond Drive onto Trinity Drive to install quick curb panels.

Expect the temporary lane closure to occur 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21.

The County advises mortorists to slow down and proceed with caution while work is underway in this area. Read More

The Revenue Stabilization and Tax Policy Committee of the New Mexco Legislature is meeting Monday and Tuesday in room 322 at the State Capitol.

Eco Station And Overlook Convenience Center Closed For Thanksgiving Holiday Nov. 23 And Nov. 24

COUNTY News:

The Eco Station and Overlook Convenience Center will be closed Thanksgiving Day and the day after Thanksgiving.

There will be no residential or commercial trash and recycling collection service provided Thursday, Nov. 23 or Friday, Nov. 24.

Former Los Alamos Residents File IPRA Complaint Against County

Former Los Alamos residents John and Cindy Fraser have filed a complaint against Los Alamos County Council and County Custodian of Records Barb Ricci in First Judicial District Court seeking to enforce the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA).

In our consent agenda during Tuesday’s Council meeting, we approved a request to provide North Central Regional Transit District with $350,000. This transit district serves a number of counties in Northern New Mexico and this funding is in addition to county funding for the county’s Atomic City Bus service.

Lane Closures At All Diamond Intersections Nov. 17

Los Alamos, New Mexico—

The Los Alamos County Traffic Sign Crew will be installing “Yield to Pedestrian” signs on traffic signal arms  8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17 at the following intersections:

  • Diamond Drive at West Road (all traffic signals);
  • Diamond Drive at 38th Street and Arkansas (all traffic signals);
  • Diamond Drive at Trinity (all traffic signals);
  • Diamond Drive at Canyon Road (all traffic signals); and
  • Diamond Drive at Orange Street and Sandia (all traffic signals).

Homebuyer Assistance Program Launches Tomorrow

Income-qualified homebuyers needing assistance to make a down payment on a home are invited to apply for Los Alamos County’s new Homebuyer Assistance Program (HAP) starting Wednesday, Nov. 15.

The County has contracted with Los Alamos Housing Partnership (LAHP) to oversee the program, which is funded by the County Council for $150,000 for the first year.
