Los Alamos Golf Course Closes For Season

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos Golf Course has closed for the season effective Nov. 29.

The turf grass has entered into a dormant period and does not readily repair itself. The decision to close the golf course, at this time, has been made in an effort to protect the course and create the best possible playing conditions when it reopens.

Play will resume as soon as weather and turf conditions allow. This past year Los Alamos Golf Course experienced terrific playing conditions throughout the season. Thanks to all for understanding.

Construction Begins This Week Along East Road

COUNTY News:

The Department of Public Utilities’ contractor Parker Construction Company will be performing work starting today replacing gas and electric infrastructure along East Road, N.M. 502, between Airport Drive and Camino Entrada.

 According to Department officials, the majority of the work will take place within the airport property line and on the outside of the road bed, therefore there are no lane closures, detours or interruption of utility services anticipated. The project is scheduled to be completed in mid-February.

San Ildefonso Road Pedestrian Tunnel Closing For Rehabilitation Work Monday Nov. 28

COUNTY News:

San Ildefonso Road Pedestrian tunnel at the Diamond Drive Round-a-bout will be closed starting Monday, Nov. 28, 2016 for approximately three weeks as the tunnel undergoes rehabilitation.

Crews from GM Emulsion will be removing the existing concrete slab in the tunnel and will be constructing a structural shotcrete lining around the entire tunnel. This rehabilitation work is necessary to remediate the corrosion of the existing corrugated steel plate around the perimeter of the tunnel.
