Construction Project To Begin In White Rock

COUNTY News:

The Department of Public Utilities’ contractor, AUI, Inc., is to perform sanitary sewer work scheduled to begin the week of Nov. 21 with crews working 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The project will include, in order of execution, trenchless rehabilitation and service line replacement of pipelines under Connie Avenue (600 feet west of Aragon Avenue), Kayenta Drive and Mimbres Drive, resulting in little or no street excavation. The Los Alamos County Council has appointed J. Alvin Leaphart, IV of Georgia as the new County attorney. He replaces Rebecca Ehler who retired last summer.

Leaphart spoke by telephone Wednesday to the Los Alamos Daily Post about his new position, which he is scheduled to begin Jan. 3.

“I was very excited to receive the job offer and I am winding down my practice here and winding down my position with the City of Statesboro,” he said.
