Branding Consultant Atlas Reviews Public Input

COUNTY News:

As of Aug. 31, Los Alamos County branding consultant Atlas Advertising is in receipt of all public input on the short list of straplines developed by Atlas in coordination with the Branding Review Committee for Los Alamos County’s brand.

Public input was submitted on-line via the County’s Open Forum survey process, hard copy, e-mail and transcribed from phone conversations between July 31 through Aug. 28, 2015.

DEA Drug Take-Back Initiative Returns To Los Alamos

The Los Alamos Police Department would like to announce that it will once again host three collection sites 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 as a part of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s drug take-back day initiative. 

  • Site 1: Los Alamos Police Department lobby at 2500 Trinity Dr. (please deposit prescription medications into the drop box)
  • Site 2: White Rock Visitor Center at 115 N.M. 4, east side parking lot.
  • Site 3: Smith’s Marketplace at 751 Trinity Dr., south side parking lot near the patio.

Brief Power Outage Planned For White Rock Wednesday

DPU News:

Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities officials are advising White Rock customers that weather permitting, a short five minute power outage is planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2.

In cooperation with the Los Alamos National Laboratory Line Operations, the brief outage is required to safely replace a faulty 115,000 volt switch at the substation.

Mullen Heller Architecture were notified that the Los Alamos Nature Center has been selected as the ‘Best Project under $10 Million’ by ENR, a regional design and construction publication.

  • Eco Station will be closed Monday, Sept. 7 in observance of Labor Day and reopen regular hours Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Today, Los Alamos Chief of Police Dino Sgambellone released crime statistics for the second quarter of 2015, which were compiled by the department’s records division.

Offenses reported as crime statistics are determined by the FBI Uniform Crime Report Program and classified as crimes against persons (violent crime) and crimes against property. The offenses of murder (homicide), manslaughter, rape, aggravated robbery and aggravated assault make up the violent crime category. Asphalt Resurfacing Activities Underway In White Rock

Asphalt resurfacing has began on White Rock streets including Page Loop, Meadow Lane (Overlook Road to Grand Canyon), Todd Loop, Glenview Drive, Glenview Court, Kris Court, Kimberly Lane (Rover Boulevard south to cul-de-sac), Valle Del Sol, Kendall Drive, Paul Place, Jeffery Place, Page Court, Pruitt Avenue and Hamlin Court.
