Sept. 18 at 4:36 p.m. / A 47-year-old Los Alamos man reported that he is the victim of fraud on Trinity Drive. The estimated loss is less than $2,500.

Library Hosts Special Programs For Hispanic Heritage Month: Feliz Mes De La Herencia Hispana!

The Los Alamos County Library System is celebrating Hispanic Heritage month with special programs for kids, a Read-In, and book displays for all ages, through October 15.
Story-times will be bilingual, with stories being told by native speakers in both Spanish and English 10:10-10:40 a.m. on Sept. 30 in White Rock, and 10:30 -11 a.m. Oct. 1 at Mesa Public Library.

Redmond will talk about “How to Write a Marketable Children’s Book in 7 Weeks” at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 24 in the Upstairs Rotunda at Mesa Public Library. She has graciously agreed to fill in for the previously scheduled author Doug Fine, who was unable to come.

SANTA FE – The Los Alamos Fire Department, with the assistance of the Santa Fe National Forest, is planning to conduct a prescribed burn on 26 acres of Los Alamos County open space on one of the following days, Sept. 25, 26 or 27, depending on weather.
The area to be burned is in the upper reaches of Pueblo Canyon east of the Aquatic Center.
