SANTA FE — Santa Fe Community College, the Santa Fe Higher Education Center, will close April 7 to 9 for Spring Holiday. No classes or student services will be available. SFCC’s child development center Kids Campus and the William C. Witter Fitness Education Center also will be closed.
Classes and student services will resume on Monday, April 10. Registration is available 24/7 for late-starting credit classes at www.sfcc.edu. Registration for summer classes begins on Tuesday, April 11.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) and U.S. Reps. Teresa Leger Fernández (D-N.M.) and Jahana Hayes (D-Conn.) have reintroduced the Loan Forgiveness for Educators Act, which will expand the federal loan forgiveness program for educators.
This legislation helps to address educator shortages and increase children’s access to a diverse and well-prepared educator workforce by strengthening the federal Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program.

Fourteen members of the Los Alamos High School Hilltalkers qualified for the 2023 National Speech and Debate Tournament. The tournament will be held in June in Phoenix, Ariz.
They prevailed over 169 entries from 14 New Mexico schools to qualify for this competitive tournament. This number of qualifiers is a record number for the Hilltalkers in their 61-year history.
