Aspen’s ‘Girls On The Run’ Program Wraps Up Fall Season

The Aspen Girls on the Run team wrapped up the fall season running in the Jingle Bell 5K in Santa Fe earlier this month. Every student ran with a buddy and finished the jingle bell/holiday-themed race which drew over 100 participants.
The run was the culmination of 10 weeks of lessons and training by this group of 3rd-6th graders at Aspen Elementary.

The University of New Mexico (UNM) in Albuquerque is offering a course on Weapons Of Mass Destruction Non-Proliferation Science & Policy.

LAHS Graduate Duncan Fuehne Wins National Title
Los Alamos High School graduate Duncan Fuehne ran a tremendous race Dec. 2 at D2 Nationals on a snowy course in Seattle, Wash. Fuehne finished 3rd overall in 29:43 for the 10K course. He was the 2nd finisher for National Championship Colorado School of Mines (teammate Dillon Powell was Individual Champ). Students from the Aspen-Mountain-Piñon Combined Elementary Schools Choir recently surprised diners at the Blue Window Bistro with songs of the Christmas season.
