LANL Foundation Announces 2022 Career Pathways Scholarship Winners 

LANL Foundation News:

ESPAÑOLA — Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Foundation, in partnership with the Los Alamos Employees’ Scholarship Fund, has announced the recipients of the Foundation’s 2022 Career Pathways Scholarships.

Career Pathways Scholarships award up to $3,000 to qualified applicants pursuing a two-year degree, trade or professional certification. The scholarships are made possible by donations from LANL employees, Triad National Security and donors from northern New Mexico. 

A grand total of $102,000 was awarded to 43 outstanding Northern New Mexico students. Read More

The Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation (LAPSF) announces Ryan Aldaz as the winner of the Larry Baca Memorial Scholarship this year. This scholarship is awarded to students who have participated in track or cross country at Los Alamos High School.

The scholarship is named for Larry Baca, a renowned coach in Los Alamos for 30 years and member of the Los Alamos High School Hall of Fame and New Mexico Coaches Hall of Fame. New Mexico Higher Education Department Opens Application Process For 2022 Teacher Loan Repayment Program

SANTA FE— The New Mexico Higher Education Department (HED) encourages teachers with outstanding student loans to apply for debt forgiveness through the state’s Teacher Loan Repayment Program, which is now accepting applications until Aug. 1.

New Mexico licensed teachers working in high-need fields and schools statewide may be eligible for up to $6,000 per year for two years toward principal debt and interest on federal student loans related to teacher education.

Four Los Alamos High School Students Named Finalists In 2022 Supercomputing Challenge

LAHS News:

Four students from Los Alamos High School were named finalists in the 2022 Supercomputing Challenge.

The Supercomputing Challenge is a program for middle and high school students across New Mexico to come up with a computational science project and work on it all year long.

This is the 32nd year for the challenge.
