Public Invited To Share Thoughts On North Mesa Gym

Public input is being sought on a proposed shared-use gymnasium in the North Mesa area at the Los Alamos Middle School campus.

A virtual public meeting was held on the project June 1.

During the meeting, Public Works Project Manager Sara Rhoton provided some background on the gymnasium.

NMHED Opens Applications For $195 Million To Support Key Initiatives At New Mexico Colleges And Universities

Churro Sheep Shearing Event At Los Luceros Historic Site

The community is invited to join expert sheep-shearer Kerry Mower 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 11, as he brings his traditional shears to the coats of Los Luceros Historic Site (LLHS) and observe how Española Fiber Arts skirt the wool to clean and choose the best wool for weaving.

Additionally, LLHS will hold a Ranger Talk about the history of Churro sheep in New Mexico at 11 a.m. and create some Churro sheep wool crafts.

Scouts learn the proper care and folding of the American flag during the Sangre de Cristo Cub Scout Day Camp 2022 held Wednesday through Friday at the Masonic Temple at 1400 N. Sage Loop. The camp featured field games and relays, campfire skills, songs and jokes, flag ceremonies, visits by horses, a beekeeper and fire truck.
