NMDOT: Española Valley HS Senior Class Parade Saturday
NMDOT News:
ESPANOLA – The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) would like the traveling public to be aware of temporary intersection closures Saturday afternoon in Española.
There will be a parade along Fairview Lane for the graduating seniors of Española Valley High School 2-4 p.m. Saturday, May 22.
To ensure everyone’s safety, Law Enforcement will be temporarily closing the following intersections so that the parade may pass through:
- Fairview Lane (N.M. 584) and U.S. 84/285;
- Fairview Lane and N.M. 68;
- Fairview Lane and South McCurdy Road; and
- Fairview Lane and N.M. 291.

Isaac Alex Romero, a senior at Los Alamos High School, has been accepted to The University of New Mexico. He hopes to pursue a career in a Biomedical Science (specifically autoimmune diseases) after pursuing an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry.
Romero proposed the idea of the Student Garden Program to Los Alamos High School administration. Upon approval, he was in charge of implementing this successful program showing his abilities of design, leadership and working with students and businesses. He also served on Student Council.

Los Alamos County Student Enrichment Summer Program Accepting Applications May 21 Through June 3
COUNTY News:
Los Alamos County has been awarded grant funding from the Public Education Department to operate a Student Enrichment Summer Program for adolescents (ages 16-18) in high school to include recent graduates.
The program will run 20 hours a week for six weeks.
Students will have the option to rotate through County Departments or stay in a department for the full 6-week duration.
