Wood is graduating in May 2021 from Arizona State University with her Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science. With a strong appreciation for the environment and natural world, she strives to make changes in her daily life to live more sustainably.

State ECECD Department Releases Updated COVID-19 Health And Safety Requirements For Child Care Providers

SANTA FE — The New Mew Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) has released an updated set of COVID-19 health and safety requirements for child care facilities and early childhood professionals throughout the state.
The new requirements permit providers to safely return to normal group size and student-to-teacher ratios according to their licensing level, establish safety requirements for transporting children between locations, and update requirements regarding child, staff, and essential visitor health screenings.

This year the science fairs are online rather than in-person posters and presentations. The 2021 Northeastern New Mexico Regional Science and Engineering Fair Results were held Saturday, March 27.

LAPS Meal Program Begins Monday April 5

Starting Monday, April 5, a standard breakfast and lunch pack provided by the State of New Mexico will be available to every student attending class on campus in the Los Alamos Public Schools.
Distribution will vary at each school site so please reach out to your student’s school administrative staff for details.
Students would be provided the opportunity to pick up a chilled grab-N-go breakfast and lunch pack during each school day.

Frances Dunne wasn’t sure where or when she was born. Even now, nearly 30 years after her death, much of her life remains a mystery, but her work on the top-secret Manhattan Project is well documented.
Born in 1910, or maybe 1903, probably in Canada, Dunne was an orphan by the age of four and spent years in boarding schools and dreary summer camps. She attended Swarthmore College but did not graduate, contrary to references on the internet. Read More

Last Friday, the LAHS boys and girls cross country teams swept the district meet. The top five boys and girls finishers were from Los Alamos.
