The Los Alamos Historical Society, Los Alamos County Library System and the Pajarito Environmental Education Center are teaming up to bring programs about gardening to the community. There will be a series of five workshops, lectures, and events in April and May.

New Mexico Students Offered Surveillance Testing For COVID … Goal To Test 1% Per Week On Voluntary Basis

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) has announced that New Mexico public school students will be offered school-based COVID-19 testing opportunities as a further tool to enhance safety amid the continuing pandemic.
Student testing is completely voluntary and at no cost to students. Districts and charter schools will implement student testing programs as soon as possible but no later than the week of April 26.
Students who show proof of being fully vaccinated and students who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days will not be asked to participate. Read More

Reminder: Watch For Students Returning To School Monday

Students will be heading back to full in-person learning Monday, April 5 at all Los Alamos Public School (LAPS) sites.
Police officers will be out in school zones for traffic enforcement to ensure that all students, parents and staff are safe as the community transitions from remote learning to in-person.
Motorists are reminded to stop for school buses when their red lights are flashing, and students are loading and unloading, as well as students crossing to school in crosswalks.
Each and every driver can do their part by remembering school bus safety rules and tips:
