Registration is open for the four spring sessions of the Los Alamos History Museum’s Time Travelers, a free after-school, drop-off program on Wednesdays. Students set out on an adventure of exploration, investigating local history through artifacts in the History Museum and hands-on activities. Receiving the Churchill Scholarship is an honor bestowed upon a very select cohort of college students from across the U.S.
The University of New Mexico’s Esteban Abeyta, a senior biochemistry major and honors minor, can now count himself as one of the scholarship’s elite.
The Churchill Scholarship was awarded to Abeyta for one year of master’s study at Churchill College at the University of Cambridge. The award covers full tuition, a stipend, travel costs, and the chance to apply for a $2,000 special research grant.

Back in the fall, the construction site at Barranca Elementary School was filled with piles of dirt.
Since then, progress on the project at 57 Loma Del Escolar has been moving full steam ahead, with the addition of steel beams and concrete flooring. The end result will be a new two-story classroom building for first through sixth grades, as well as a cafeteria and administrative offices.

The Rave Panic Button interoperable communications network will be unveiled and implemented at Aztec High School (AHS), the site of a tragic and deadly school shooting in December 2017.

SANTA FE – Santa Fe Community College and the Santa Fe Higher Education Center will be closed Monday, Jan. 21, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
No classes or activities will be held and no other student services will be available. Both campuses will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 22, which is the first day of classes for the spring semester for SFCC.
