JJAB Fundraiser Provides School Supplies For LAPS

The Los Alamos Juvenile Justice Advisory Board (JJAB) is raising funds to provide school supplies for Los Alamos Public School students.
 
It may be the middle of summer, but it is already time to start preparing for the upcoming school year. JJAB is starting its annual campaign, asking the community for financial donations that will be used to purchase supplies for the students at LAPS elementary schools, middle school, and high school.

Judge Rules NM Violated Students Constitutional Right To Sufficient Educational Opportunities

SANTA FE – A state court ruled today that New Mexico’s education system violates the state constitution because it fails to provide students a sufficient public education.  

Families and school districts in the consolidated lawsuit Yazzie v. State of New Mexico and Martinez v. State of New Mexico sued the state for failing to provide public school students with a sufficient education as mandated by the state’s constitution.

LANL Foundation’s Education Grants Call For Applications

The LANL Foundation is accepting applications for $2,500 education and community outreach grants. The deadline for submission in the second yearly grantmaking cycle is Aug. 15.
 
Two types of grants are offered to nonprofit organizations, schools or education programs. Education Outreach Grants directly support public school children in grades K–12. Community Outreach Grants meet the Foundation’s mission and vision of innovative programming, collaboration and advocacy for lifelong learning but need not be tied directly to K–12 public education.
